Felony Murder Elimination Project would like to share two different paid research interview opportunities for system impacted people.

The Sentencing Project

A paid research opportunity from The Sentencing Project is available for people whose lives have been impacted by crime and resentencing. The Sentencing Project is seeking to better understand how second look resentencing impacts crime survivors. If you or a loved one experienced a crime by someone whose sentence was later reduced, you are invited to participate in a confidential conversation with their research team.

Conversations may take place in person or remotely, will last about one hour, and participants will receive a $150 gift card for their time.

To learn more or participate, please contact Cherrell Green at cgreen@sentencingproject.org or call (202) 628-0871, ext. 102.

The deadline to participate is July 31, 2026.

Ray Klein

Ray Klein, a member of the California Coalition for Women Prisoners and a fellow at Brandeis University, is writing a book about the history of women’s prison organizing in California and is looking to interview people who were formerly incarcerated in California women’s prisons between 2004 and 2013, particularly those with direct knowledge of the proposal to build “gender responsive” prisons in the 2000s.

Eligible interviewees will receive $25 for participating in a one-hour Zoom interview.

You may be eligible to participate if:

  • You were incarcerated in a California women’s prison sometime between 2004 and 2013;
  • You experienced so-called “gender responsive” changes inside California women’s prisons; or
  • You took part in organizing against the gender-responsive prison expansion plan.

If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact Ray at Rachel.klein14@gmail.com

Please share both these opportunities with others in your networks who may be eligible and interested in particpating.
