Felony Murder Elimination Project is sharing an important information sheet about the Board of Parole Hearings’ (BPH) Commutation & Recall of Sentence (C&R) Review process. This document explains who may be eligible for review, what the C&R process involves, and what to expect in the coming months.

Key highlights:

  • Individuals may be reviewed if they’ve been in prison at least 25 years without a break, and don’t fall into certain excluded categories.
  • Eligibility checks begin in Spring 2027.
  • No application or action is required to be considered.
  • Reviews are planned to start July 2027; hearings in July 2028.
