Felony Murder Elimination Project invites you to join us at the California State Capitol in Sacramento on Tuesday, September 29th for the 3rd Annual LWOP Walk for Life Walkathon: Walk for Healing and Hope – A Day of Remembrance.
From September 26 to October 3, 24+ incarcerated communities in prison yards throughout the state will participate in a powerful Week of Walks to bring awareness to the redemptive work people serving LWOP are doing inside, helping heal themselves and the families and communities they may have harmed.
This week of walks was started and is led by people inside serving Life Without Parole sentences (aka death by incarceration). Many of the incarcerated people participating will be walking for healing, hope, and to raise funds for a variety of organizations dedicated to helping communities throughout California.
Those of us outside will support in a powerful gathering at the State Capitol on Tuesday, September 29, where we come together to uplift hope, healing, and the call for change. Join us in building a movement to end Life Without Parole sentences in California! Please rsvp below to join us for the Walkathon in Sacramento!
Ground transportation to Sacramento will be available for participants traveling from Northern and Southern California. Shared lodging in Sacramento will also be available for those who are comfortable sharing a room.
Please RSVP by September 1. Because transportation costs may increase closer to the event, those who RSVP after the deadline may be asked to contribute toward any additional costs.
