Felony Murder Elimination Project would like to extend an invitation to our supporters to register for a webinar, “No Time to Wait: A Case for Releasing Elders from California’s Women’s Prisons,” an in-depth discussion about a report of the same name released last month.
In a recent post, we shared No Time to Wait: A Case for Releasing Elders from California’s Women’s Prisons, a joint report from the California Coalition for Women Prisoners (CCWP) and the Policy Advocacy Clinic (PAC) at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. The report documents that incarcerating elders in California women’s prisons is unjustified, costly, and inhumane. Releasing elders from the state’s women’s prisons will help California address the crisis of its rapidly aging prison population.
Advocates from CCWP invite interested advocates and supporters to join the webinar next Wednesday 4/8 @ 6:30PM PT on Zoom. They plan to discuss the findings from this report and share ways to take action on recommendations from the report. Additionally, CCWP is especially excited to hear directly from an incarcerated researcher who has been vital to this project and will join the webinar by phone.
Save the date and time to your calendars: Wednesday 4/8 @ 6:30PM PT
