Felony Murder Elimination Project would like to share a short video from the September Art and Faith in Action event, featuring Sister Helen Prejean, a leading advocate for the abolition of the death penalty. She is known for her best-selling book Dead Man Walking, based on her experiences with two persons on death row for whom she served as spiritual adviser before their executions.

text from the video:

Our country is at a tipping point, and people are looking to California for moral leadership. As the Dead Man Walking opera made its return to the San Francisco Opera 25 years after it premiered there, we joined Sister Helen, fath, and local leaders across denominations to bring awareness to the more than 500 people sitting on death row right now, and call on the Governor to exercise strong moral authority and grant clemency in all California death-sentenced cases.
