Yesterday, advocates held a press conference for Charles “Sonny” Burton headlined “A Life on the Line: Clemency for Sunny Burton. Rabia Chaudry, criminal justice advocate and author of “Adnan’s Story: The Search for Truth and Justice After Serial,” hosted the virtual press conference as support clemency grows ahead of the State of Alabama’s planned March 12 execution of Burton for his role as an accomplice in a 1991 robbery of an auto parts store, despite not being the person responsible for death of store customer Doug Battle.

Burton himself was present and participated in the virtual press conference.
