The FAMM (Families Against Mandatory Minimums) Foundation is offering virtual trainings to assist people with learning how to become Criminal Justice Super Advocates, supporting fair and just criminal justice policies in their states and local jurisdictions.
States across the country are realizing that growing prison populations and costs are the result of adopting mandatory minimum sentencing laws and prison policies that keep people behind bars too long without increasing public safety. Targeted state and local criminal justice advocacy is crucial for driving systemic change because the majority of U.S. incarceration occurs in state and county facilities. Local advocates tailor reform focused on issues, such as police accountability, bail reform, and sentencing adjustments, to specific community needs, effectively addressing racial disparities and improving public safety in their communities.
You can join one of these events today; The State Policy Update Call is scheduled today, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM ET (3:00PM – 4:00PM PT). FAMM’s Family Outreach, Storytelling, and Policy staff will let attendees know what we’ve been up to and answer your questions, and, as always, look to hear what you’re concerned about these days.
