The Alabama Supreme Court granted the state’s request to reschedule the state-sponsored execution of Kenneth Eugene Smith by nitrogen hypoxia, a method that no state has ever used, under a heavily redacted protocol. We ask our supporters to take action to demand a stay of execution and call for more transparency to allow a thorough study of Alabama’s capital punishment process and consider the serious objections raised as to how it administers the death penalty.
